MiniMax Hub is a desktop all-in-one AI studio from MiniMax, the makers of the Hailuo video service. You give it a single brief, and a team of AI agents writes the copy, generates the images, produces the video and voiceover, and assembles the result. It was announced on 15 June 2026 at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
What is MiniMax Hub
MiniMax is a Shanghai-based AI company known for the Hailuo video model (it's in our rating) and the Talkie and Xingye apps. At the festival they unveiled Hub — a single platform that brings image generation, video, voiceover, music and editing into one window.
The core idea: instead of jumping between a dozen separate services, you set the task in natural language (or drop in a PDF brief, a reference video, an asset pack) — and an AI agent takes it from there.
What is officially confirmed
- Several AI agents work in parallel. Hub spins up separate agents for copy, images, video and audio at once: they break the task into parts, each does its piece, then merge the result for review and export.
- Input is a brief in any form. Natural language, a PDF, a reference video or an asset pack: the agent parses the requirements, selects the right models, executes and verifies quality.
- Human-in-the-loop, not a black box. The agent pauses at key decision points and leaves creative calls to the human rather than producing everything in one click. As MiniMax's Xu Lüyang put it: "The AI agent shouldn't be a black box — the creative direction and aesthetic judgment must ultimately be left to humans."
- Skill and Memory functions. Hub remembers your working methods and aesthetic standards so it can repeat your style from project to project.
- It's a desktop app (macOS 12+ and Windows 10+) with free access to start; it connects to Hailuo and the MiniMax API. Full pricing wasn't announced at launch.
At the festival Hub is already being road-tested: together with the AI Backlot lab, several creator teams are using it to make short films.
How it differs from a regular generator
A regular model returns one result per prompt. Hub works differently — it's a production platform with an agent: it holds the whole pipeline (script → images → video → audio → assembly → export) and picks the models for each step itself, while leaving control with you. It's a shift from a "one-click generator" toward a working tool where AI handles the grunt work and the decisions stay with the author.
In essence, Hub is an aggregator of MiniMax models run by an agent — one of 2026's notable trends, where services pull the entire content pipeline into one place instead of a sprawl of separate tools.
How it ties to our rating
Hub's engine is MiniMax's own models, including Hailuo, which is already in our AI tools rating with a score of 6.0. Hailuo is strong on motion realism, but we marked it down for billing problems — see the full Hailuo review. If Hub ships as a separate product with clear pricing after its public release, we'll review it and add it to the rating.

What it means for creators
If the promises hold at release, Hub hits a real pain point: today a single clip is stitched together by hand from five or six different services. One agent that holds the whole pipeline and picks the models itself saves hours — while the human-in-the-loop design keeps what AI still does poorly with the person: taste, pacing and direction. The open questions are price and stability, which we'll see after the public release.
